Oscar Mayer, a food brand owned by Kraft Heinz Co., has launched its own virtual currency — the Bacoin, according to a press release.

Oscar Mayer is giving away a limited quantity of Bacoin, which users can also mine. Customers can boost the value of their Bacoin by sharing the news on Twitter and e-mail. Users can cash out their Bacoin to purchase Oscar Mayer Bacon online.

"Oscar Mayer is the gold standard of bacon because of our dedication to hand-selecting the best cuts and then naturally sugar curing and naturally hardwood smoking our bacon," brand manager Matt Riezman said in the release. "Add to that our proven expertise in the bacon-tech space, Bacoin is poised to deliciously revolutionize the cryptocurrency market."
