Cash App, the mobile payment service from Square Inc., with more than 7 million customers, suffered a brief service disruption last week that left users temporarily unable to receive payment transfers and perform other functions .
"On Friday we had an issue causing customers to experience pending payments and trouble cashing out," a Cash App spokesman told Mobile Payments Today via email. "Additionally, customers also experienced an in-app issue preventing them from purchasing bitcoin and swapping out Cash Card Boosts. Our team implemented a fix that has taken care of each issue."
The spokesman said the outage was unrelated to outages at other sites last week, including Chime.
