TE-Food, Halal Trail partner on halal blockchain solution

TE-Food, a blockchain startup, recently teamed up with Halal Trail to launch a blockchain solution that tracks livestock and food across the supply chain, and ensures that it meets halal standards. Halal is a term for products that are permissible to Muslims living under Islamic law, according to a press release.

The TE-Food platform will provide physical identification materials such as security seals, a B2B mobile app for farms, distributors and retailers, and a mobile app for users to check the history of food. All of this data will be stored on the company's blockchain platform.

Halal Trail will initially use the technology in two pilot projects tracking chickens and lambs in the cities of Lancaster, Tunbridge Wells and Manchester in the U.K.
