Feb. 7, 2018

Romana Food Brands Corp., an Italian food company, has filed to change its name to Romana Food Blockchain Corp., according to a press release. The company has asked to retain its existing stock ticker symbol following the name change.

"Our new brand identity and core corporate focus will clear a path for Romana to become the recognized expert in Food Blockchain and the traceability," Romana chairman Morrie Fogelbaum, said in the release "The cryptocurrency market continues to gain acceptance in the mainstream finance industry and same for the underlying blockchain technology in many industries."

As Blockchain Tech News reported in January, the SEC has announced that it will keep a close eye on companies that add "blockchain" to their name to ensure they are not merely capitalizing on the term to increase their stock value.
