Lisk officially releases Core 1.0 for blockchain app development

Lisk, a public blockchain platform for blockchain app development, has launched Lisk Core 1.0. This release uses Lisk sidechain development kit to enable developers to create blockchain applications, including custom tokens, according to a press release.

The company integrated a SocketCluster library, a scalable HTTP Plus server engine, a public API extension and replacement and several code refactors into Lisk Core 1.0. Lisk also redesigned the P2P layer to allow peers to connect and exchange data using SocketCluster, according to the release.

"This is the latest stage in Lisk's mission to simplify the creation of blockchain applications, democratize blockchain, and extend the technology’s benefits to everyone," Lisk co-founder Max Kordek said in the release. "The Lisk Core codebase will be used as a template to develop new blockchains on which revolutionary new applications can be built. This is a necessary step to ensure the future stability and scalability of our protocol, supporting a vibrant ecosystem of blockchain applications."
