Korean pop singer Amber Liu partners with blockchain music streaming service Uplive
Amber Liu, a Korean pop singer, has partnered with Uplive, a live music streaming service, for its launch in the U.S. Uplive uses blockchain technology to allow users to send virtual gifts to musicians and other content creators, which they can then exchange for money, according to a press release.
The platform's cryptocurrency GTO currently has a daily trading volume of 20 million to 200 million daily. Users purchase 25 million virtual gifts for content creators monthly. The platform is currently available in more than 100 countries and supports 16 languages including English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Chinese, according to the release.
Liu was raised in Los Angeles, and she began her career in Korean Pop in 2009. She will be sharing moments of her daily life in videos as part of her partnership with Uplive in preparation for its U.S. launch.
