Health care blockchain startup partners with bone and joint institute

SimplyVital Health, a blockchain health care startup, has partnered with Hartford Healthcare Bone & Joint Institute in Hartford, Connecticut. The startup will provide its ConnectingCare platform to provide orthopedic risk based contracts to help drive down costs, according to a press release.

The platform manages patients and monitors financial estimates in real-time, both before and after surgeries. Multiple providers can access the same data of the patient to help boost overall savings and recovery time.

"We have trained our nurse navigators to determine patient transition plans 2-4 weeks ahead of surgery, understanding DME, transportation, and medication management. The ConnectingCare platform gives us one more tool to effectively manage our patients," David Santoro, director of operations of the BJI, said in the release.
