HashCash develops diabetes management blockchain solution

HashCash now offers a blockchain solution for healthcare management, which allows diabetes patients to store medical data on a blockchain. They can then directly control who accesses the information, according to a press release.

The platform uses multi-signature smart contracts to ensure patient privacy and control. The system records each change in the patient's treatment. The patient can choose to share that information with hospitals, research organizations and other groups.

"Blockchain offers a decentralized and immutable data storage system which can be accessed anytime, from anywhere in the world. The blockchain platform being designed by HashCash for diabetes patients will facilitate instant access to every information, big or small, present in the reports of the patients. This will help on-the-spot diagnosis of the patient’s medical condition and will facilitate prompt treatment without wasting precious time," Raj Chowdhury, MD at HashCash, said in the release.
