Hackers steal 30 percent of Coinrail cryptocurrency, bitcoin price falls

Hackers have targeted Coinrail, a South Korean exchange, and stolen about 30 percent of the virtual currency trading there. Bitcoin dropped 10.8 percent in value after the announcement on Sunday, according to a report by CNET.

Coinrail has shut down trading as it investigates the cause of the hack, and has claimed that the remainder of the cryptocurrency on the exchange has been stored "safely."

Bitcoin value dropped to $6,790 following the announcement. The virtual currency has yet to approach its last all time high of $20,000 in December.
