Canadian retailers now sell bitcoin vouchers

March 10, 2016

Bitcoin startup BitAccess has announced a new service that allows customers to purchase bitcoins directly from retailers. Customers can purchase Flexepin vouchers, which are similar to gift cards, according to a press release.

BitAccess's Flexepin vouchers are available at 6,000 retailers across Canada. The vouchers are offered in denominations of 10, $30, $50, $100 or $250. Once the user purchases the voucher, they receive a receipt, which they can use on the BitAccess site to add the bitcoins to the wallet of their choice.

According to the release, if the cashier has difficulty finding the Flexepin, customers should inform them it is located on the prepaid machine. Currently, customers can purchase Flexepin vouchers with debit or credit cards.
