Authoreon intros blockchain tool to fight counterfeiting

Authoreon has introduced its blockchain tool to authorize retail products and help fight counterfeiting. Its authorization badge system can track the lifecycle of products through the supply and ownership chain, according to a press release.

Retailers can display an "authorized retailer" badge on the home page of their website and at the product category level. Authoreon will also supply an "original product" badge on individual products that meet its standards.

"We're seeing shocking numbers in terms of counterfeit goods, and we felt like something needed to be done. We have developed a powerful, very flexible system that benefits brands and retailers alike. Brands can track their goods to a very fine degree, and retailers carry a badge of trust that lets consumers know they’re getting the real deal," Authoreon CEO Chris Heinze said in the release.
